Turner Project Management, a global leader provided project management services and played a pivotal role in the transformation of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) Terminal 1.
Turner’s expertise in construction management proved instrumental in expanding the airport's capacity, laying the foundation for its evolution into a premier aviation hub.
Turner meticulously spearheaded the expansion of the existing 688,890 square foot terminal to a sprawling 2,077,434 square feet.
This four-fold increase in built-up area not only facilitated the targeted passenger capacity but also provided ample space for crucial amenities and modern infrastructure.
The expansion encompassed extensions to T1 D – Departure and T1 C – Arrival areas, seamlessly connecting departure and arrival terminals.

Recognizing the need for holistic development, Turner's scope extended beyond the physical structure of T1. Their contributions included:
- New Runway: Building a brand-new runway significantly increased air traffic handling capabilities, reducing congestion and delays.
- Cross Taxiway: An additional cross taxiway was built to optimize ground operations, further enhancing efficiency and safety.
- Apron and AGL Works: Expansion of the aircraft parking apron and associated Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) ensured smooth aircraft maneuvering and safe nighttime operations.
- Multi-Level Car Park: A multi-level car park provides ample parking facilities for travelers, addressing a critical need.
- Landscaping Works: Meticulous landscaping works enhanced the aesthetics of the airport environment, creating a welcoming and visually appealing space.
